The feature films Sky Crawlers, and Sword of the Stranger, have been sent to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences for consideration among 12 other animated films for the Best Animated Feature category. The other films that were sent over, if you want to know the competition, are:
The new film Bolt (kinda want to see), Delgo, Dr. Suess’ Horton Hears a Who, Dragon Hunters, Fly Me to the Moon, Igor, Kung Fu Panda, Madagascar, $9.99, (interesting title.) Tale of Despereaux, Waltz with Bashir, and Wall-E, which is apparently considered the shoo-in for the winner.

I haven’t seen Sky Crawlers (Oh, how I really want to), but judging from the anime movie track record I don’t think it and Sword of the Stranger will get a nod.
I didn’t know anything about these two films. I’ll need to check these out as well. I would rather have a subset for animation films vs all computer 3D made (like Wall-E).
I know all use computers, but there is clearly a difference in styles.
