100 Years Of Russian History To The Tune Of tetris

Nearly two months late on this one but it’s just so amazingly good that I must post it. What happens when someone reclaims the Russian folk song origins of the famous Tetris theme and uses it to retell the story of 20th century Russia? The video above is what happens:  Complete History Of The Soviet Union, Arranged To The Melody Of Tetris is a brilliant song by UK comedy group Pig with the Face of a Boy accompanied by an excellent video by Chris Lince.

It’s full to the brim with historical parallels between the game and the economic systems. If you’re a history buff this will make you grin and laugh as you find all the little metaphors and allegories. It even contains the ending scene for the GameBoy version of Tetris. Yes, it actually has a couple of endings. Just fantastic.
