Come, visit the city of Hakodate, Japan. Enjoy their famous squid ramen and take part in the Ika-odori (Squid Dance). But when visiting do mind the alien cephalopods from the planet Ikaaru…

The city of Hakodate has begun to produce action-packed tourism mini-sodes in the hopes of enticing visitors to their often overlooked port town. The saga begins with alien invaders seeking vengeance on citizens for eating too much squid. As each story unfolds we find notable landmarks appearing as robots protecting the city from their would-be attackers.

This is how you draw visitors in; come for the robot alien battle, stay for the squid. Clever marketing.

According to a survey of 100 aliens, Hakodate is the number one city they would most like to invade.

The hijacked tourism mascot “Ikabo,” is sent on a rampage throughout the city. Hakodate’s Goryōkaku Tower & Chūkū Dogū are dispatched to protect the city. Lastly, the Goryōkaku fortress joins the fray blasting into space.

The battle between the hijacked Ikabo squid robot and the Goryōkaku Tower robot rages on into winter.

In the final video, Goryōkaku fortress ends this once and for all. However, the real fight has just begun. An armada of Ikaaruian ships is fast approaching. Hakodate appears to be under full-scale alien attack and its survival is in question. Visit Hakodate soon… before it’s too late.
