Mario strikers DISCONNECTED! (Larger)

I have a confession to make… I disconnect from online games. I was playing Mario Strikers Charged online the other night and I got pitted against some cheap bastard of a player. He kept doing this shit that I was unable to do anything against and it guaranteed him goals. So I waited until there were only 5 seconds left until the match ended and then I switched off the Wii and disconnected. I know this is wrong to do, but I just have a problem when players online are cheap and exploit flaws in the game constantly. I don’t have a problem losing to somebody who plays fair. But when playing a cheap player, I think to myself - ’If my opponent is going to cheat me out of a fair game, then I should cheat them of a victory’.

Many have voiced their disgust over people like me and have called Nintendo out to come up with with a system which penalizes gamers from disconnecting and I agree they should. You do get gamers who only disconnect simply because they’re losing and this isn’t fair. But I also think it’s unfair that measures aren’t taken to ensure gamers don’t exploit flaws in games. If Nintendo gave the Wii a hard drive they could at least patch the game so certain tactics and special abilities couldn’t be exploited. An option to turn certain features of the game off for ranked matches would also help make things a bit more balanced.

Disconnected is wrong, but so is being a cheap f**ker. If you’re not going to play fair against J online, then expect to have some message about a connection error come up on your screen.

Have any of you ever disconnected from an online game over something similar? Don’t worry. We don’t hate or judge folk here at Dark Diamond. *pulls out the hating hat and judgement spectacles*

Personally, I hate online competition (espectually onine scholarship), and the only time I’ve ever disconnected from any online game was when I had AOL and dial up.

Anyways, what the f*ck happened in your Super Mario Strikers match? Did the f*cker pulled an Action Replay on you?

Dude — if it’s in the game, blame the game, NEVER the player. If you can’t deal with a tactic — practice more. Learn to exploit. A good game always has a counter-tactic.
Bitching about guys not playing “fair” in a videogame just makes you sound like whiny scrub.

Hmm well im not one to disconnect mainly because i dont care for scores so i dont mind losing. However if someone’s being an ass just repeating the same stunt over and over again i get bored and i stop playing, i dont disconnect, i just stop playing until he wins, go get a glass of water or something. Usually they quit.

I do it on Metroid Prime hunters when the fuckers use cheats to fly around and blast the Omega canon 10 times in a row. The bastards ruined the game!

Yeah, ruined it. Last time I played some guy was between 2 walls, impervious to fire. I didn’t disconnect, and even though I was destined to lose, I kept on figthing.

And J, I agree with you that there are players who only exploit top-tiers like there’s no tomorrow, but hey, keep playing and sooner or later you’ll play some nice players. . .:D
