According to an ad on the main page of popular World of Warcraft statistics site wowhead, World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King will be released on November 13. This gives all our WoW addict readers (myself included) about two months to reach level 70 to make use of the new Death Knight class, reach level 80, and explore the Lich King’s homeland of Northrend. Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to settle my affairs and say goodbye to my loved ones.

RUMOR: Diablo III forums up on Battle.net?

image

A source has alerted me to something quite interesting on Blizzard’s Battle.net forums. If you follow this link:

http://www.battle.net/forums/board.aspx?ForumName=d3-general

You are brought to a "The battle.net Forums Are Currently Down" error message. This differs from entering a nonsense forum name, which redirects the user to the Battle.net main page. Could this be related to the mysterious splash page on Blizzard.com?

OMB: WoW Gets a Bad Touch

“Hard Like Heroic”

“But! There are several other very important differences between real people and pixels that you should know about.”

Oh, this video’s nasty. Like, really nasty. Like, NSFW nasty. Well, maybe borderline. Not that much nudity, just pixelated nudity. But hey, if that kind of stuff gets you off, you’ll certain love this!

The people over at Mad Cow Studios jumped on the machinima band wagon and parodied The Bloodhound’s Gang “The Bad Touch” - for those of you who can’t really remember how the song goes, it goes somewhere along the lines of: “You and me baby ain’t nothin’ but mammals/ So let’s do it like they do on the Discovery Channel.” Yeah, it’s that song. Enjoy it, and for those of you who honestly never knew of this song, here’s a video to give you an idea of the… intentionally impression of the song and why this WoW video is quite risque.

I can sing this song by heart.

We have a World Series of Video Games?

Sweet. First poker, now video games! And it seems like World Series of Video Games(WSVG) is quite recent, too. It just began it’s first season last year, with six different competitions and six different events including the finals. From Dallas, Texas in the US, to London, to Wuhan, China! Last year, for PC they had games Counter Strike, Quake 4, and Warcraft III, whereas the XBox tournament with Halo 2, Project Gotham Racing, and Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfare for the Xbox were only available to Americans. Last year, the prize purse was $750,000 USD - but this year, it’s going to be $1,000,000 USD! First event is going to be in the Wuhan, China, and the second, third, and fourth events are going to be held in the United States. The fifth event is going to be held at either London or Rome, and the finals are going to be held at the world’s biggest LAN party, Dreamhack in Sweden. All of this is going to happen from May to December, so you can bet that this event is going to be big for those professional gamers.

And this year, they’ve added Guitar Hero II to the competition.

Also on the roster are Quake 4, Fight Night Round 3 (o…kay….), and the obligatory Halo 2, Counter Strike, and Call of Duty. Here’s hoping they skip the ungodly stupid Miss WSVG contest this time, although it certainly did provide some amusing controversy and comedy last year.

So for those of you hardcore gamers who want to make what they love into a professions, like those poker players - here’s your chance. Start playing, and start ignoring your obligations!
