I’m not sure what I just watched, but Liberty City just got a new show. Found in your safehouse on cleverly named CNT, Princess Robot Bubblegum show be available at the end of this month. In this series you’ll be sure to get all the wonderful stereotypes we’ve grown to love about anime.
Due to the highly anticipated release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, many publishers have decided to postpone other notable titles until the Q1 of 2010 (Splinter Cell: Conviction, Bayonetta, Red Steel 2, among others). The full-on marketing blitz of MW2 advertises four different editions, the most elite “prestige” version sporting CoD branded night vision goggles.
Industry analysts expect MW2 to be one of the highest grossing entertainment releases to date, possibly surpassing Grand Theft Auto IV’s record currently held at slightly over $500 million in the first week. This first look highlights the AC130 Killstreak which rewards players with their own plane.
Set to be released late August, the reincarnation to the Batman franchise pits the incredibly beefed-up Bruce Wayne against nearly all of his adversaries in the Gotham universe. Arkham Asylum delivers a nice multi-shaded grey gritty look with flamboyant color palettes for foes. Sadly I can’t get into this game. From The Joker’s chiseled jawline to Batman looking like he’s been having too much HGH; the games premise seems stale. Maybe I’m being too hard on it, but the plot idea: Batman’s worst night ever, is just meh. Addtionally for a game that is so close to street date, I’ve hardly heard a thing about it. I hope I am wrong…what do you think?

UPDATE: Kotaku reports that Valve’s Doug Lombardi dismissed this as a rumor.
The Inquirer, reporting from the Austin Games Developers Conference, reports on heavy rumors that Google is looking to aquire Valve “any second now”. Google is said to be very interested in Steam, Valve’s digital distribution software. Call me crazy but while I can see Google running Steam, I cant imagine it doing games.
But who knows! At least Google releases software on time! We’ll keep you posted.
While my lack of knowledge of the Japanese language prevented me from understanding the mechanics of the game, this Nicovideo link (you’ll need an account to watch) of said web-game got me intrigued. To those who hope to see some skin (if you know what I mean), I’m sad to say that the game seems to be relatively worksafe, aside from girls wrapped in towels and wearing bikinis.
As of now, it is still unconfirmed whether this mini-game will be included in the actual PlayStation 2 game or otherwise. While some of us might feel that it would be a brilliant idea, I wouldn’t get my hopes up too high.

This post is old; I originally posted it on my.qj.net back in March, and then on my own blog, Warriors of Gaming. As such, it is slightly out of date. However, it still holds true and it reflects my core beliefs about the gaming community. It’s pretty long, so it’s after the split.

This video is already a couple of months old so my apologies to those who have already seen it, and my apologies to those who haven’t, also to anyone who might be around you and might listen. I’m really sorry. These are the Blackout Band, a boy band of sorts, and this is their song entitled Video Games. When I use the word band and song I’m being extremely generous, this is literally a 2 chord song and to expect them to sing in key is, like they say, to be a fool.
Gah! This is like combining every annoying little brother out there into an unnerving singularity! Can I still apologize? No I don’t think an apology is enough anymore.
Ah, yes, Penny Arcade. Gabe and Tycho – both the most successful figures in the webcomic world. They’re powerful enough to host a charity (Child’s Play) and their own gaming convention (PAX) made by gamers for gamers. And now, they’ve created their own game. And from the looks of it, it’s going to be episodic – like Sam & Max. Now, I’ve heard about this months back, when Kotaku announced it. However, when I dismissed as another one of those projects that would be fun to do in theory… Like a lot of Kevin Smith’s project… or Communism. Well, they’ve finally released the trailer. And I must say, despite the graphics (and the fact I’m a couple of days late), I’m more excited about the cutscenes then the action. And maybe pumping the Fruit Fucker as well.
Edit: Huh… ironically enough, if you look under “categories”, it seems like the Penny Arcade post seems to have taken the 666th post… Uhm… Congrats?
