To all of you Nintendo fans. . .they have finally done it. The legendary Zelda:Ocarina of Time is finally downloadable via the Wii’s Virtual Console at the reasonable price of 1000 points ($10). If you haven’t played this game, well, I don’t know in what African nation you’ve lived in, but if you’re reading this, shame on you! Go get it now and realize what makes the Zelda saga so special.

Europeans have received a great game on the Wii Virtual Console, just because they live there. It’s Mario Kart 64. Yeah. That game that had endless fun to chug like a collossal cow. No matter if you were unexperienced or an expert at Kart racing, the place was always full of people, pizza and soda pops.
The price: 1200 Wii points. So, I hope they expand the availability of this excellent game towards the Americas. . .soon.

Hudson Entertainment’s director of marketing, John Lee, while interviewed by Game Informer, lit the spark of a rumor involving Nintendo, the Wii, and downloadable games.
When asked if they were planning to release original content to the WII VIRTUAL CONSOLE:
Well, the VC was specifically designed to bring back classic games, not to introduce new content. So to answer your question specifically: No.
BUT
“However, in the future, you should rephrase that question to: Are there any plans to launch original content on some downloadable service on the Wii, and you might get a different answer.
and later, Nintendo was asked the question regarding original content:
“We cannot confirm at this time in what format the new content will be delivered, but in the future there will be original games available for download through the Wii”
So there you go, now with all the cool stuff Wii aficionados do with their Wiimotes and laptops, you can expect pretty good games. Unfortunately, there has not been any definite date for this channel to be opened.
