There’s a lot of great cosplay out there but even some of the best cosplayers out there often forget about the play in cosplay. Not so for this amazing man cosplaying Heavy Weapons Guy. The guy not only has a spot-on costume, he has the voice and mannerisms down to a science. Cosplayers, we need more of this! Heavy Weapons Guy is credit to cosplay!

Today the unexpected and quite welcome First Ever Classless Update for Team Fotress 2 came out. With this latest update we get eighteen new and quite awesome hats. Too bad they are still rare as hell. We also get a new game mode, King of the Hill. The verdict? Like every other KOTH mode on any other FPS… it’s a spamfest, and this is coming from someone who plays Demoman a lot.
The devil, as always, is in the details though. A really big list of small updates to the game were implemented that make the game more enjoyable and for once this all happens without a class getting overused for two weeks. There were really very heavy hints at the next update being for the soldier and there are even conspiracy theorists that claim that Friday Valve will release a fourth day of updates.
Not excited? How about this: There’s a small segmen on GTTV tonight with Valve and apparently they will talk more about TF2 animated clips, the comic and even Half-Life Episode 3. You heard that right, Episode 3. Expect more in the morning.

Woa woa WOA! Looks like someone stole Valve’s Intelligence Briefcase. The video above, courtesy of Kotaku, shows the recently leaked Meet the Spy video. This video, part of the Sniper/Spy update, marks the longest, most action packed Meet the Team video ever. It also finally answers the question of where exactly is the spy from? For those still wondering, he’s french. This leaves only the Medic and Pyro left for their respective videos and Valve keeps raising the bar with each one.
Valve, why don’t you just make a feature length movie about Team Fortress 2 and spare us the shame of all the recent franchise movies? Or you know, just release some more photos of Scout’s mom, you wont hear complaints from us!

Valve finally released the Scout update for Team Fortress two. Along with a sleuth of new community maps, a stunning baseball, an energy drink called BONK and a more sawed off sawed off shotgun, the update fixed a bunch of old annoying things about the game. The most important of these being the facestabs the spy could pull off. However the long awaited addition to the Meet the Team videos was… unexpectedly missing. That’s right, no new meet the team video, not even a Meet the Sandvich clip like the last time.
However, not all is lost, the update also added a bunch of new voice commands and domination taunts. So far only the Scout domination taunts have been released and brother, they are awesome. This video, compiled by the wonderful Nero, is the magnum opus of insults and taunts. You’ll never hit his tiny head!
If you dont have TF2 yet, its the perfect time to buy it at half price (only $10 you cheapskates), if you already have it, prepare for a couple of weeks of playing Pyro and taking it easy as the scout rushes burn in your wake.

Our Steam Group!
Yes, dear readers, as mentioned in our podcast, we have a Dark Diamond Steam group! If you play any Steam games be sure to join up, perhaps you can meet with us when we’re playing Team Fortress 2, Garry’s Mod or anything else. Its also easier to know when we’ve got a game going on in the official Dark Diamond TF2 server.
Site Updates!
Hope you’ve noticed some of the changes we’ve been making to the site behind the scenes! Most notable is the new DDN-tan drawing that stands on the website header. Isn’t she lovely? Props to Godsh0t, DDN-tans creator for drawing her so well. Other changes are:
Better search box, more identifiable since it now says ‘search’, that only took us 2 years huh?
Avatars for authors are back! We’re saying good bye to the uniform Mii avatars.
A staff list of the recent active members of the DD crew.
Better contact forms, now there’s a separate form to contact the whole crew for tips and press stuff and one specifically for myself for official business, all in the same friendly contact page.
Small adjustments to the layout overall.
However, our most important new feature is the Upcoming Releases & Events list on the sidebar! Wonder what games are getting released soon? What anime or manga is premiering? Just load up the site and look at the 10 nearest events!
So tell us what you think of the changes, what else you’d like to see and again, do join our Steam Group!
Now that video games have become accepted as a narrative medium, what do we turn to for the latest innovations in storytelling? The answer, apparently, is in the heads-up displays of video games. In this case, a clever fellow by the name of theminipanda at ubercharged.net has taken it upon himself to retell the summer blockbuster The Dark Knight through those little things that pop up when people die in Team Fortress 2. Once again, the Internet laughs in your face while you think “I wish I thought of that first.” Click here for the full post.

After not much in the way of news for quite some time, Valve has come out with some info about the upcoming Heavy update for Team Fortress 2. Thirty-five new achievements will be added, likely with the same tier-unlocking system as the Pyro and the Medic. Here’s some more details of what’s to come:
In addition to the three unlockable weapons and thirty-five achievements for the Heavy, we’ve got a new game mode with five new arenas for it, a new Payload map focusing on more open spaces than Goldrush, and another popular community-made map. Throughout the rest of the week we’ll be giving you the details on all this, and if all goes well, you’ll have your hands on it shortly afterwards.
Here’s hoping this new game mode is a return of Team Fortress Classic’s The Hunted game mode. A more open Payload map will also help avoid problems like the bottlenecking points that cause so many Goldrush games to stalemate. Valve will be unveiling more details every day, so stay tuned as more details unfold!
