Holy ridiculous swords Batman! We see replica Buster Swords, Gunblades and even Master swords every now and then, but this? This is a first. The folks at True Swords sell a replica of Sora’s Keyblade from Kingdom Hearts.
Its a ‘full size’ replica measuring 39 inches in length, comes with a high quality clasp and true to concept paint job. A true replica of one of Square’s most ridiculous innovative swords! For $39.99 this seems like the perfect item for the Kingdom Hearts fan or cosplayer.

Well it seems after the mysterious samurai incident in the UK a couple of months ago, the UK government has wised up to these sword wielding heroes. The UK government is preparing a ban on samurai swords, that is the cheap knockoffs rather than the real deal. The ban, which could be in effect before the end of the year, would punish offenders with up to six months in jail and a £5000. Ouch.. The reason behind this proposed ban is precisely the recent rise in assaults (wether for good or bad) with these rather sharp imitations. This quote from Home Office Minister Vernon Coaker makes life seem just a tab more interesting.
Public safety is our greatest priority. Samurai sword crime is low in volume but high in profile and I recognize it can have a devastating impact. Banning the sale, import and hire will take more dangerous weapons out of circulation, making our streets safer.
Its the year 2007, the future, and we have to worry about katana crimes. How cool is that?

I wish I could say that what I’m about to tell you is one of those ‘only in Japan’ kind of stories but I can’t because this one happened in the UK. So lets call it an ‘only because of Japan’ story ok?
A group of burglars entered a home in South Shields, England and start robing the place, a woman on the inside of the house sees this and starts screaming her heart out. Thankfully a couple of police officers were nearby, heard the poor woman’s screams and ran into the house to see what was up.
Now the criminals where not scared, not only did they outnumber the cops but they where armed with hammers, knifes and chains. One of the knife-bearing thieves runs toward a police officer and stabs him. – Oh shit! – Then out of nowhere a guy with with a katana appears and strikes the stabber with the blade. One of the other robbers tries to run away but our samurai friend gets to him first and strikes his arm with the katana.
The officers manage to arrest two of the criminals but our modern day Kenshin is gone without a trace. I shit you not.
Police are actively trying to find this sword-carrying hero. Either he’s been watching too much samurai flicks or Ubisoft’s staff is taking research for Red Steel 2 quite seriously.
Here’s to you, Lone Samurai, cheers!
