In this new online manga, a team of artists and writers have decided to tackle the popular Starcraft mythos and put it into comic-book form for the first time (if I’m not mistaken). As of now there are four chapters up on the Tokyopop web site, each with varying degrees of pages available to view. The full graphic novel weighs in at 192 pages and retails for $10.99 US.
Fans will be pleased to hear that the manga follows the plot of the game quite faithfully, quotes the in-game units (“jacked-up and good to go, sir!”), and has some high-caliber art. Especially impressive are the Zerg, full of slimy, spiny detail and seething menace, just like you imagined them to be behind their primitive 90’s sprites in Brood Wars.
It turns out that Best Buy, Circuit City, and Gamestop have all slated Starcraft II’s release date as December 3rd of this year. It’s unusual to see multiple retailers agree on identical dates unless it’s been made official, so one can’t help but wonder why else they would choose it. 1up speculates Blizzard could announce this at their “Worldwide Invitational Event in Paris” this weekend.
You heard it, that can only mean one thing. Zerg rush. Now, this may not be the first time we’ve seen them in action in Starcraft 2, but its the first time we can see them doing what they do best. Swarming the shit out of some Terrans. Enjoy these fine videos courtesy of gametrailers! I know I sure did.
Hi-ya Sports-fans, its late, and I know you haven’t heard from me in awhile, but as soon as I heard this, I knew DDN had to have this up. The sequel to one of the greatest games of all time has just been announced, and you can tell from the crowd in the video, a WHOLE LOT of people are going to be pumped. Screw the fiasco with the Halo 3 beta, this has just overshadowed all of that.
