In a surprisingly quiet bit of news from a month or so ago, RPG Land snagged a quick question opportunity with a representative from GUST, the developer behind Ar Tonelico and the Atelier series.
Speaking to an unnamed representative of Japanese game developer Gust, RPG Land asked if our boy knew anything about Ar Tonelico II going overseas. The rep noted that indeed, usual suspect NIS America picked it up.
No word on Mana Khemia 2 so far, but if NISA continues to serve as a US publisher for GUST, it wouldn’t be unreasonable to expect it sometime in the future as well. No release date has been given for Ar Tonelico 2, but whenever NISA decides to officially announce it you can expect to hear one.

In a recent interview with RPGamer.com Nippon Ichi Software America defended Disgaea 3: Absence of Justice against criticisms that the game could have just as easily been run on a Playstation 2 rather than a Playstation 3, as well as let slip plans to release the Nintendo DS port of Rhapsody: A Musical Adventure in the US. The game is slated for a release in Japan in August, so expect a release date for the English version sometime soon!
NISA also advises us to keep our eyes and ears open on Friday:
We’ve got some surprise announcements to be made on June 6, 2008 at our San Francisco event, so please look forward to them. Also some of the games that you mentioned above…we are working on them right now.
Said games mentioned above include Mana Khemia 2, Ar Tonelico 2, and Cross Edge. We’ll keep you updated on what new titles are headed our way!
