Wow, you guys made the 2nd movie night a complete success once again! Thank you all for coming. For those that couldn’t make it, you have some explaining to do! Now it’s time for you to voice your comments on the movie, that is, if you’ve stopped crying. Whatever you want to discuss, whether it’s pudding, fixing your bike’s brakes or the intricate workings of nut-based time travel. Let us know what you thought of The Girl Who Leapt Through Time.

It’s Friday and its the movie night! Same as last time, the theater is here, do join us a bit before for some chatting and random videos. The movie starts at 7 or a bit after, be there!

After taking a much needed vacation, I seemed to miss a lot around here. Whilst I was relaxing, taking in the waves; you all were busily sharing your thoughts. We seem to hit on a lot of topics this month, but I found the common thread to be based is societal differences. Here’s what you had to say:

“Video Games Are Evil”

After Gundam creator, Yoshiyuki Tomino told gamers “video games are evil” and are the harbinger of death to the planet, the DDN community provided their own analysis which proved to be a very lengthy and spirited debate. I recommend reading some of the comments. Videogames can be treated as a hobby and hobbies give way to culture. Keeping this in mind Velcor provides a poignant saying, “A person without culture is just another potato sack that eats and shits!”

Movie Night: The Mindfuck Is Over, Perfect Blue Is The Winner!

After much debate, Perfect Blue was chosen as our first foray into a community movie night. Furiously chatting away we laughed, gave our own theories of Mima, but most importantly had lots of fun….at least that is for the ones who could make it… Ninjaarashi laments: How the- what th- argh… I had this sinking feeling that something, somewhere there was awesomeness that was being had. I totally missed out.

Ah well. It’s still a well planned-out invite for some ‘hawt’ yaoi. LOL, if Link’s a boy, he’s welcome to give the man his well-deserved medicinal of dose of YAOI <3

Anime Reunion? Here’s A Good Start.

Velcor gives it to us straight: Let’s say we [fans] can play among ourselves and keep wanting more. . .The Verdict: A somewhat-balanced geek gathering that can be more if it introduces actual anime to the mix.

Clearly a much better experience than the previous debacle.

Movie Night: Cyborgs, Time Travel, Dogfights And Condiments

The resounding success of our first movie night gave us the opportunity to wanting it to be a reoccurring theme (we try lots of new things around here to find the ones you like the most). So movie night – round two is planned for this Friday. Stay on top of the news for the event and join us in watching The Girl Who Leapt Through Time.

It’s official now! The Girl Who Leapt Through Time wins as our next movie night feature. The movie night will be this Friday, Oct 2, and same as last time those who are subscribed to our RSS feed or daily emails will get a heads up on the details much sooner than everyone else. We’ll start at 7 pm PST so check a bit earlier for the details.

Ok the first Dark Diamond movie night was a total succes, at one point breaking 20 people watching the stream and chatting. Now we’ll definitely do another one. Now its time to vent your frustration, post your theories or simply comment on your love of Mima. Maybe you are the REAL Mima!

Alright guys, it’s official: Perfect Blue is the winning pick for our first ever movie night. The stage has been set for a night of gentle mindfucking with this masterpiece from Satoshi Kon. Now all that remains is for you to pick the day! This weekend, Friday or Saturday, make your voice heard in the comments and we’ll let you know.

Even though we expect to start with small attendance on this first movie night we’ll be getting the details of the showing and how to access it to our subscribers first, after that we’ll post it on the site prior to the start of the event. There’s a cap on the amount of viewers we can have so it will be first come first serve. Subscribe to the site if you haven’t to secure the access info early.

Ok kids we’re trying something new this time! If you’re in school you probably just went back to classes and between all that studying and partying staying indoors on the internet, if you work you’re probably stressed to hell. So we’re going to get a bit more social in here and watch a movie together, like friends. Now, don’t you worry about how or why or having the MPAA on our asses. Leave the magic to us.

For now just pick your favorite from the poll below and soon we’ll announce the winning title and more info about when and how. After this first one we’ll be counting on you for recommendations but for now… we’re sticking to a few classics.
