asda

Well, that’s my interpretation of the story anyway. D+PAD picked up on this oh-so-exploitable offer: Gamescampus.com will supposedly pay $30.00 (US) to those who play their new free MMORPG Asda Story up to level 40 by September 4th and aren’t satisfied with their gaming experience.

Some small catches to this offer are: having to provide an address and phone number, and the fact that only the first 1,500 people who qualify will actually get the dough. Of course, cheaters will be disqualified.

I don’t know about you guys, but this is a risk I’m willing to take. I won’t have class for a few weeks and might as well try my luck with it. I’ve never been a fan of MMO’s, so I’m assuming I won’t like the game. Thus, it won’t be all fun and games (like grinding ever is).

In fact, I might even keep you posted on my progress in the game and let you know if I actually get the loot! So stay tuned for updates on this story.

Blade & Soul: Huge Swords, Short Skirts

A first look trailer of NCsoft’s latest MMORPG, Blade & Soul, has been released. The game takes place in what looks like an ancient Chinese setting, with the most impressive graphics in an online RPG since Age of Conan. What’s even more impressive, though, is that the frantic pace of combat shown seems to be taken directly from the game.

Not much else has been said on the game by NCsoft, and so far the only region to get the press release at all is their Korean branch, but NCsoft has plenty of international branches to spread their work around the world. It will be interesting to see if the final product can look as stunning as this teaser.

Kame Hame Ha all over the world!

DBZ fans rejoice, because today we have awesome news. Bandai Visual just announced that the Dragon Ball Saga will become an online game called “Dragon Ball Online”. Toriyama will supervise the project, and the Tokyo/Seoul company “NTL” will be developing it. They claim for this game to be done and released by 2008 in Japan, with a beta test in Korea this summer. They still haven’t decided on the fees for the game, as well as how periodically it will be.

This game’s scenario will be a world several hundred years after the DB saga, that means we can see out favorite characters duking it out as well as other new, exclusive characters. As for customization, it’s said that you can freely customize hair, clothing and facets; as for gameplay, you can group with other players and take on quests or defeat powerful bosses, and you can challenge another player, now a MMORPG standard.

Looks awesome. With all the boom that Dragon Ball causes in all the countries it touches, I expect this game in the Americas soon after release.

Granado Espada: Part 1 - Initial impressions, Visuals, and Classes

On my travels through the intertubes I came across this game by Korean developer Hanbit, the company responsible for the MMO golf game Pangya. Granado Espada is set in a budding 17th century civilization, and its expeditions into the new world.

Guild Wars gets ready for the Dragon Festival

guild wars.jpgLike many MMORPGs, Guild Wars is preparing for its first in-game celebration. This time its the Dragon Festival, a commemorative event to celebrate the resilience of the Empire of the Dragon.

The activities will include carnival games, an example is a spin-off of Whack-A-Mole called Whack-A-Worm. There will also be special PVP settings and events along with festivity inspired quests.

The event is taking place near the Shing Jea Monastery on June 30, and runs till July 5. Apparently, there is a surprise at the end that will shock all Canthans, so plan on being their for the big finale.

Our guess? Dragon induced death to all attendees.
