Clearly a fan of the Metal Gear Solid Series, a Turkish prisoner escaped using a cardboard box.

“The 42-year-old Turkish citizen – who was serving a seven-year sentence – had been making stationery with other prisoners destined for the shops.

At the end of his shift, the inmate climbed into a cardboard box and was taken out of prison by express courier.

Shortly after it had passed through the prison gates, the inmate made his dash for freedom by cutting a big hole in the tarpaulin of the lorry and jumping off.”

Solid “Turkish” Snake is on the loose somewhere in western Germany, presumably in search of giant mecha.

In a surprising turn of events to say the least, David Hayter, the famous voice of Solid Snake, has led his fans on a crusade to petition Sony Pictures to let him write the script for the upcoming Metal Gear Solid film. It all started on IMDB’s message boards, where he said that if he gets enough support, “we may be back on board.”

If you didn’t know already, Hayter actually has previous experience working on scripts, having done work on X-Men, X2, and currently Watchmen. As of now there are 1,015 signatures, and that number is going up by the minute! If you want to get in on the action, go here. I for one signed the petition because hey, how many people know Snake better than Hayter? I think he’d have the experience necessary to capture the feel of the character well in the script.

I wish I had enough time to watch 24. Actually, I wish I had enough time to get into the series. However, I’ll just have to wait this summer. I’m actually toying around the idea of hold a 24 Marathon… Of course, that would mean having to stay up for several days straight… Hmm… In that case, I’ll have to get several cases of Bawls.

Oh, if only CalorieMate could bring Kim Bauer back into the series…

Huh… I wonder what Jack Bauer would be doing in Japan in the first place…
