For those who didn’t catch wind of it during the hustle and bustle of E3, Capcom employees were wandering around sporting t-shirts featuring a simply stunning parody of what’s widely considered the worst piece of box art ever to grace a video game cover. As it turns out, Capcom enlisted the talent of Gerald de Jesus to pay homage to their not-so-noble roots.

Apparently the demand for this shirt was so great that they have decided to start selling them. Chris Kramer, PR head of Capcom, has written in his blog that they will be reprinting the shirts, and that they’ll “have some t-shirts of this beauty available for purchase soon.” You can count on me sporting this bold proclamation of one’s nerdy roots. Will you?

Mega Man 9 Footage Looks Like, Well, Mega Man

I wish that I had more to say about this video, which shows the first official footage of the much-discussed Mega Man 9, but so far all the rumors have been true. The game is adopting an 8-bit aesthetic, and it looks like it will control much the same as its NES counterparts.

The only new thing I noticed here was our hero riding a spinning cylinder, but it doesn’t look like it has anything to do with some full-blown feature or any kind of evolution of the old formula. Some are already speculating that the WiiWare game will sell as low as a paltry ten dollars. For now, I can’t say that I’m really excited, as the original 8 games in the classic Mega Man style were more than enough for me.

Lack Of Social Awareness Mega Man

Here´s a curious fact, did you know that Mega Man, besides being awesome at defeating Dr. Willy, was also a huge TV dork? No, I´m serious, just watch the latest video from the guys at Overtime Comedy.

Or maybe he had just defeated Pretentious-TV-Critic Man and gotten his… powers.

Retro Video - Mega Man Soccer -

Megaman has been one of the most symbolic characters in videogame history; he has been with us since the NES era, coming forth in the SNES era, making some awkward steps in the N64 era, and at this moment (as most do) re-hashing himself. We all remember how Megaman pioneered into the classic 8-boss + final boss formula for platformers, always fighting other Robot Masters with a certain ability, finally getting to Dr. Wily and somehow this scientist managing to escape (I guess he would be a very good friend of Dr. Robotnik from the Sonic universe. . .they always do the same).

Even though Megaman’s specialty are platformers, he has incursioned into very different genres, not as compulsively as Mario (no one can change jobs that fast) like. . .well. . .fighting straight with the bosses instead of going through all the levels. . .yeah. . .and. . .you know. . .Oh yes! playing soccer! How could I ever forget. Megaman Soccer appeared for the SNES with the re-boom of the Mega Man saga, sucking from Megaman X’s success. In it you could use either Megaman, Protoman, and a wide variety of bosses from previous NES games, the classics like Skull Man, Ice Man, Pharaoh Man. . .and the ones inserted from pity, like Bubble Man. Each captain of the team would get a super move, which could really change the fate of the game in the last minute.

ShiryuGL is the author of this video, enjoy it (it’s an order)!

If you happen to find this game, give it a try, it’s very fun even if played alone.
