This post is old; I originally posted it on my.qj.net back in March, and then on my own blog, Warriors of Gaming. As such, it is slightly out of date. However, it still holds true and it reflects my core beliefs about the gaming community. It’s pretty long, so it’s after the split.
Gary Friedrich, creator of Ghost Rider, has his head up in flames (lawl, bad pun). He has just filed a 61-page lawsuit on Marvel Enterprises, Sony Pictures Entertainment, Sony’s Columbia TriStar Motion Picture Group, producers Relativity Media, Crystal Sky Pictures, Michael De Luca Prods., Hasbro Inc. and video game publisher Take-Two Interactive. Yeah, he’s that pissed. His argument? They’ve all exploited Ghost Rider.
According to the complaint, Friedrich is seeking unspecified damages for claims of copyright infringement, violations of federal and Illinois state unfair competition laws, negligence, waste, tortuous interference with prospective business expectancy, misappropriation of characters, unauthorized use of the characters and false advertising and endorsement
I’m surprised that SCE Studios Santa Monica of God of War isn’t suing Marvel nor Climax Group for the game. Take a look at the video to see what I mean:
