See that image? That’s what I got yesterday morning when I finished my quest for buying a Nintendo Wii. Prepare for one of the saddest stories you will hear. . .
I wasn’t able to be there on launch time (Saturday 12:00 a.m.) since I was returning home after I sang with the choir I told you some days before. I got home at 12:30 a.m. and wasn’t able to cross the border to get to the nearest Wal-Mart or Toys-R-us until yesteray at 8:00 a.m.. So I started at 8:00. . .
I wasn’t in very high hopes for getting a Wii, being that late and without having preordered one, but at least I wanted to get ahold of how many there were, or if there were any games and other accessories for it.
(9:00a.m.)The first stop was WAL-MART Calexico; I hurried to the electronics section and humbly asked the counter lady (Which happened to habe a big white Wii pin on her shirt, “Do you have any Wii’s left?”, she chuckled and said “No.” in a pretty pitiful tone. And I asked, “And how many did you get?”, “32.” She said. They were gone in the 1st hour. . .
I sadly returned to the car, and with some hope left, I rode all the way to El Centro.
(9:30a.m.)The first retailer I saw was BIG K(mart). I parked the car and rushed all the way to the Electronics section and asked the sales clerk: “Do you have any Wii’s?”, He said rapidly and seriously, “No.”. Out of curiosity I asked, “Did you get any?”, and he also said “No.”. “Oh, that’s sad. . .” I said, and quickly left the store.]
(9:45a.m.) I saw a Target over at the horizon and thought : “This might be my chance.” I went to the cashier over at Electronics and came close to getting it: She was putting a WII BOX IN A BAG. I rapidly asked. “Do you have any Wii’s left?!” and she responded, “Sorry, we only have for the ones who have the presell card, but we have 2 that haven’t been asked for yet. . .But there are 2 families in line for them, so, no. You are not getting one today.”
Those last words collapsed my body and mind like a bad game of “Jenga” (”Tumbling Tower” for the real gamers). There was no hope, there wasn’t any other big retailer in HUNDREDS OF MILES AROUND. I was devastated.
I turned to check the Wii section and it was pretty well supplied: It had most launch games like Zelda, Red Steel, Trauma center, bla bla bla all the others. So I secured my Zelda game before any other thing.

(10:00a.m.) After a less-than-semi victory, I decided to go get something to eat to fill, or at least try to do, my empty soul. and I ate 3 times slower than usually, trying to get the most of every chunk of meat, tomato, bread, possible, so I could stop being self-pity-ist (?) and be on the brighter side.

I think I’ll be going 2 weeks later, so I can secure for good. . . My Nintendo Wii.
