The trailer for the english dub of Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann. I’m kind of surprised they kept the original pronunciation of Simon’s name, and Kamina’ voice feels kind of eh, but not bad!
Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann will air in America on the Sci-Fi channel on Monday, July 28, at 11:00 AM.

Oops! Looks like we missed a week of keeping up on Gurren-Lagann Parallel Works. To make up for it we bring you not one, but two this week! No need to thank us, really.
Last week’s Parallel Works featured the song Boing vs. Boing and was directed by Hirozaku Kojima, a small-time director who has only done some work on Gurren-Lagann, the Coyote Ragtime Show, and bits and pieces of Haibane Renmei. This new video boasts a very unique style of dark comic-like animation to go along with the gritty, jazzy feel of the song. An interesting watch to say the least.
This week’s video features my personal favorite song on the soundtrack, Pierce the Heavens With Your XXX! While not the surface-breaking arrangement, it nonetheless holds up as a fantastic song. The video features a pioneer town of beastmen being attacked by the evil Kamina and his flying Gurren-Lagann Fortress. Viral rides into town and challenges Kamina for the sake of his deceased wife and child, as well as for the sake of the town. Excellent animation and head-scratching follow.
That’s all for this week! We won’t forget about this next week, we promise!

This week’s Gurren-Lagann Parallel Works brings us another awesome, albeit slightly less action-packed video featuring our favorite drillers. This week takes the song BafBaf! Sonna ni Moeru no ga Suki Kai? and warns us to watch out for gambling addictions. Particular Pachinko.

Gainax has released the first of their weekly Tengen Toppa Gurren-Lagann Parallel Works, a series of shorts featuring Gurren-Lagann characters set to tracks from the Gurren-Lagann soundtrack, featuring scenarios that are anything but Gurren Lagann. The animation is fantastic, and if you loved the soundtrack it’s a whole new way to experience it.
This week’s video features Kamina, Simon, and Viral in a Robin Hood-esque adventure scenario to Rap is a Man’s Soul! (Dai-Gurren-Dan Theme). Stay tuned next week for more episodes!

An ASU engineering student presents his capstone robot project, but instead of a boring, run-off-the-mill delivery what you get is perhaps the most intense engineering presentation you’ve ever seen. All of this done to the music of Gurren Lagann, using GL visuals and even paraphrasing the show. Sometimes anime works its way into everyday life, under the radar, and it works marvelously! It even begins with a little red robot.
I can barely listen to what he’s talking about but I’m still really excited, arent you?!
