Hi there, you seem to be new here! Here at Dark Diamond we frequently update with news about video games, anime, Japan and other cool stuff. Head on over to our homepage or go ahead and subscribe to get updates! Enjoy!
A little less than a year ago Jason Nelson and many of you became enemies. I became his enemy as well when I played his fantastic art/poetry game ‘I made this. You play this. We are enemies.’ which was one of the most remarkable flash games I’ve played. Now Jason has tried to one-up himself be releasing Evidence of Everything Exploding. Evidence of Everything Exploding centers around evidence of everything exploding (or not exploding). Again the key here is in the attention to detail and replaying it to your curiosity’s content. As with last time, don’t try to understand the game, it’s pointless.
There are some very cool secrets in this game and you certainly will need more than a couple of playthroughs to see most of them. But it wont feel it’s a chore because this game has the best ending song of every videogame I’ve played. Let me repeat that, Evidence of Everything Exploding has the best ending song of every videogame I’ve played. Clearly Mr. Nelson is a man after my own heart, pineapple juice and singing made-up songs to myself are of my favorite things. Play it now.

Music Catch 2 is further proof that original gameplay and enthralling gaming experiences dont have to come from multimillion dollar blockbuster games featuring 10 new shades of brown. Sometimes all it takes is a simple game with no pretentions to return a smile to our bitter faces.
Part bullet hell, part puzzle, part music game, Music Catch 2’s premise is obviously simple. You have to catch the music! Collect shapes to earn points, yellow notes are good, red notes are bad, purple notes are POWER!
Before you know it you’ll be immersed in a wonderful world of glowing shapes and gentle, intriguing music. Hit the jump to play it and remember a bit of why you used to like videogames in the first place.

Having been around when flash games first started popping up, I’ve been privy to some very… eccentric games, to say the least. However, very few, in fact none, have the truly insane vibe that I Made This You Play This We Are Enemies. That is insane as in clinically insane.
The ‘game’, a very crude plataformer, borders the line between demented ramblings and a conceptual masterpiece. There is really no point in trying to explain it, you just have to experience it for yourself, and as the game’s instructions clearly state, stop trying to ‘get it’.
Bonus: Beat the game for some videos that give a glimpse into the author’s mind.

As far as flash games go its rare to find something truly exciting anymore, AstroFlyer is one of those rare exceptions. This Game is already 6 months old and some of you may already know it but its still worth a mention. Its a faux-3D shooter akin to the original Starfox on the SNES, nothing surprising there! In fact there is nothing surprising about the gameplay either, where this game truly shines is on its design. The game has a very modern art style and a jazzy/loungy soundtrack that evolves as you advance through the levels, which can get pretty hard let me tell you. So if you’ve got some minutes to waste go on and give AstroFlyer a try!

Not that kind of playing with yourself though you perverts! Cursor *10 is a japanese flash game that simply gives you the task of climbing the stairs to the 16th floor, but can you do it without a little help… from yourself? Click the image above to find out!
It took me two tries to get it right, not a real time waster but a very interesting concept, I’d love to see this applied to other games. Imagine a SWAT-style game where you had to play every unit member in a time lapse to make a perfect strike on a bank heist. Sounds cool to me!

Forget all about your R-type and your Touhou shooters, its all about the Neko shooter. The people from Nekogames, who make awesome cat-based flash games, made this cat shooter for Flash Game Festival 07. It has a great soundtrack, great sound effects and many many cats, longcats, hairballs and even Toro-kun. Go play it, and if you think its easy, the second time around gets much harder.
I’ve always been going in and out of Newgrounds since I was first introduced to teh internetz. Despite the fact that there are pretty crappy flashes made there, you get the occasional diamond in the rough that deserves some attention. To my surprise, I found this Megaman/Rockman flash a very long time ago. It’s a great concept behind the Megaman franchise, and if Capcom were to find this video, the Megaman franchise might actually have a chance of reviving itself. Oh well, guess I’ll have to stick with the Rockman Battle Network games and this flash…
Credit goes to Andrew Dickman for making this awesome music video.

Google always brings us cool stuff, like google earth and google maps. But Mark Caswell just made them better. He created Googles, a small and quirky flight simulator that allows you to fly a small plane over images of google earth. You can even shoot bullets that hit… something, I have yet to see what you actually hit. The game allows you to fly over cities like London, Tokyo, Los Angeles and even Mars and the moon! Mark created the game as a viral marketing tool to call attention to his portfolio. So give it a go, here.
