Hello! I come from a time when wandering merchants lied, deceived, and even killed for their own profit. . .no wait, it’s not the present time, really! There’s wheat and… and… people and… Musicians, y’know? I know we have that now but… Hey! Does this time have neko-mimi? Kitsune-mimi?…Oh, right… Japan. Err… well… Ah, I got it! There are horses! I bet you don’t have horses anymore, right? What? you do?! Oh man, how to make you believe I come from the past? Fans of classic anime rejoice! Slayers, the iconic fantasy series from the 90’s is coming back! In the latest issue of Fujimi Shobo’s Dragon Magazine, a new project for the Slayers franchise is announced. No news on the cast or title of the project, only that it will span two seasons and that J.C. Staff, who worked on all 3 previous Slayers titles, will once again be in charge of the project.
It will be very interesting to see a franchise with such a classic style be produced in today’s standards, lets just hope they don’t give Lina Inverse the moe treatment or something silly like that. I will also be keeping my hopes up for music that meets the standard of the previous 3 series who’s soundtracks are staples of anime music. We’ll keep you updated with any further details of this most intriguing project.

So, the new season of anime has started, and obviously, before the any of the series’ even began we all picked our favourites. When looking through a list of what was going to be on show, I noticed a peculiar title: “Venus Versus Virus.” Which included a picture of what looked to be very promising. I mean, psuedo-lolis, gothic lolita, guns, demon ass-kicking, a hint of lesbianism; hell, one of the main characters even has heterochromia (all the rage these days!). What could possibly go wrong? Oh reality, why do you treat me so.
