Earlier this morning, Level 5 (Developers of Professor Layton and White Knight Chronicles) announced that they’ll be working with the famous and insanely awesome animation house Studio Ghibli on their newest DS game. Titled "Ninokuni: THE ANOTHER WORLD", Ghibli will, naturally, be handling the art design. We don’t know much about the title, however we do know that it will include a "Magic Master" book, which is a replica of the book the hero carries with him throughout the game. The book will include special information that can be used in-game. We’ll be looking for more details coming up in a few weeks at TGS.

Hiromichi Tanaka, producer of the Final Fantasy III remake for the Nintendo DS, was interviewed a couple of days ago by CVG on the success of FFIII. It was all going just as planned when CVG asked the million fanboy question: Will there be a FFVII remake? In this case a DS remake. From the interview:
A lot of people are asking whether Final Fantasy VII will ever be available on DS?
Tanaka: The main thing is the timing. If we have time it is possible to do a remake of an original game but because we are at the time where the machines are changing with Wii, 360 and PS3 coming out, the development team tends to work on these games so that’s the way things are going at the moment. This is the 20th anniversary of Final Fantasy III.
Is that a yes? a no? maybe? I’m confused. Sounds like a “we’ll get there eventually” which I imagine translates to ”current FFVII fans still have a lot of money, so not yet, we can milk them some more”. Interesting nonetheless.

Sometimes I think anything anyone ever makes about Miyamoto, no matter how painful it is to watch, instantly gives you your 15 seconds in the web spotlight. Such is the case of the Operata de Miyamoto, a weird guy’s attempt to serenade the Nintendo super star.
There’s not much of an opera going on here, it starts like a lousy rhyme sung like a ballad, his voice sounds more like everyone’s drunk uncle than an opera singer. Oh yes, and then he starts growling about making love to Shiggy, creepy. Second growl song of the week already!

The console war has just ended, a winner emerges! Call me a fanboy but this has really nothing to do with my preferences but the world’s preferences, specifically, Japan’s preferences. Lets have a look-see.
I don’t think I need to explain this, but it does give me flashbacks.
This just popped in the Dark Diamond tip box, we’ve got no idea what the source is, if you know, tell us.

Stop the presses, its official, the console war has begun and the PS3 is in last place. Website Nextgen Wars provides up to date data of console sales numbers and so far the Wii is almost 100,000 units above the PS3. Here’s an embedded counter:

This is it people, the moment so many of us have been waiting for. Revolution Day is just a few hours away. Thats right, I’ve personally been waiting for over two years for this moment. The Nintendo Revolution, The Wii, its the reason my passion for videogames was rekindled.
I’m no fanboy, never really been, but the unbelievable secrecy Nintendo held around the Wii brought us gamers to question what we really want from a console. So in honor of Revolution Day I have a video that will forever hold a special place in my heart. Ladies, Gentlemen, The Nintendo On:

Today is a gaming holiday, actually for the more devoted of us it is a Holy Day. Today, November 16, is Shigeru Miyamoto’s birthday!
The man that gave us Mario, Donkey Kong, Zelda and yes, even Pikmin, turns 54 today. Happy birthday Shiggy! May you keep breaking the barriers for many more years and many thanks for the experiences you’ve brought us. Many generations of gamers forever influenced by his creations.
It makes me wonder, how does Miyamoto spends his birthday? Probably playing the guitar and spending time with the kids and the pets and all that cozy and fuzzy-feeling stuff.
That or dressed as Link eating mushrooms ’till he drops.

The PS3 should go on sale just in a little while in Japan and unlike yesterday, today is packed with fanboys waiting to get their hands on one. Here’s a video of the wait outside Yodobashi Akiba.
Can you feel the excitement? Its in the air, and that Christmas-ish music adds to the magic of the moment. Hang in there guys!

Oh fanboy love knows no limits, it might not move mountains but it can definitely lay the smack talk on competing mountains. Yeah, mountains are cool, but I digress. Uber Nintendo fanboys, Ffejery Plexco and Kip Beats, made this totally neat (cool kids still say neat, right?) song and accompanying video as proof of their undying love and devotion to the Big N.

American McGee, the main man behind Alice, has finally decided to pick his colors for this upcoming console war. His pick? The Nintendo Wii, only the Wii. In an interview CVG the designer stated that “The only truly next-gen console out there is the Wii. Everything else is just a video card and processor upgrade.”. Well thats certainly something!
Also when he spoke about the Xbox 360 and the PS3 he said “I sense that Nintendo is going to capture the hearts of gamers while Microsoft and Sony stab each other in the neck for market domination. Nintendo is focused on innovation and games. The other guys are focused on making money”. Now that is quite something, isn’t it? He’s probably playing with a DS on that photo up there.
