Fallout 3 DLC to top out at "Several Hours"

fallout3

According to Bethseda VP Pete Hines, Fallout 3’s gonna have some serious DLC when it hits later this year. In an interview with Shacknews, he stated that they "want stuff that’s going to be several hours. Not just like a one-off thing, but something like where you can download it and play it for X number of hours". He also goes on to say that they want to do something like what they did with Knights of the Nine, a downloadable quest chain in Oblivion, another one of Bethseda’s most popular titles. Hopefully they can make the quests new enough to actually justify paying for the stuff.

Sadly for the PS3 owners out there, Bethseda already says that they’re only releasing DLC for the PC and 360 versions of the game.

Loads of Fallout 3 Screens Leaked

And by loads, I mean about 150. If you hadn’t already guessed, Kotaku was one of the first to jump on this story, saying the screens leaked following the Zenimax (they own Bethesda, apparently) Asia expo. Among the images you’ll see lots of dialogue, lots of brown, some stats screens, and even some combat.

Probably the most interesting info contained here are specific details concerning what different skills do, such as the Energy Weapons skill (determing your proficiency with plasma and laser weapons) and Luck, oddly enough, raises all of your skills and ups your chances for crits. If you’re hungry for new scraps on this game, take a look here for the full gallery.

Fallout 3 Site: Now Open

pipboy.gif

Not just some fake design, this is the real deal. The actual Bethesda-stamped Fallout 3 website. So far, we’ve got features seemingly sticking to what the original does best (freedom of choice and ultra-violence), a bunch of screenshots and art (if you caught any recent PC mags lately, you might notice a few familiar shots), and a foreword by Todd Howard, Exec Producer of the project, complete with a funny little picture at the end.

Seriously, you blithering stupid Fallout fanboys, cut him some slack. Any reasonable developer WILL have a hard time following up to the legacy of the first two games, and yet you fans are being judgemental over a few screenshots (NOT final, mind you). Stop the incessant whining and complaining on message boards and on NeoGaf, and your literal board wars with renowned journalists on GFW podcasts about your radioactive scorpions and “staying true to the first Fallout” bullshit. These people from Bethesda are doing their damndest to make this the best sequel ever. Haven’t they proved their worth with the four Elder Scrolls games already?!
