Kotaku reports that Scott Faye, producer of the upcoming totally-not-going-to-suck-no-really-we-mean-it Max Payne movie, has hooked up with 3D Realms to adapt Duke Nukem to the big screen. They also promise that until the story is finished (it’s being "actively developed". No, really), they won’t shop the script or even the film concept around to studios. He’s also plans to adapt the GameTap-exclusive American McGee’s Alice to the big screen, formerly planned to star Sarah Michelle Gellar, who has since left the project. Of course, with a winning team like American McGee and Scott Faye, I can’t imagine why.

Either way, the Duke Nukem movie at this moment, surprise surprise, has no release date.

Picture somewhat related. Apogee, a name we haven’t heard from in a long time, is resurrecting the Duke Nukem franchise the way it used to be: side-scrolling!

This new Duke Nukem Trilogy will be coming out for the DS and PSP, both catering to each system’s unique capabilities and strengths. Other exciting news is that they will also be reviving some of their other old franchises, which could mean new Wolfenstein or Commander Keen…

Holy shit I don’t believe it.

According to a recent news post on the 3D Realms homepage, tomorrow we will be getting a special teaser video for you guessed it, Duke Nukem Forever. As quoted from their newspost:

“Tomorrow, Wednesday the 19th, around noon CST, we will release the first teaser trailer from Duke Nukem Forever. To tide you over until then, there has been a screen shot taken from the teaser and posted in our forums”

Now of course, this does not really mean anything as its just a teaser video, but it is nice to hear they are still “working” on Duke, more or less. But still, I’m as excited as ever for any news about the good ole’ Duke, as me and many of my friends were essentially raised on duke nukem 1,2, and 3D.
