Here´s a curious fact, did you know that Mega Man, besides being awesome at defeating Dr. Willy, was also a huge TV dork? No, I´m serious, just watch the latest video from the guys at Overtime Comedy.

Or maybe he had just defeated Pretentious-TV-Critic Man and gotten his… powers.

Holy Gamer Flashbacks! The Captain N Varsity Jacket

Comment now!

Holy crap it finally happened! A Kotaku reader by the name of Stephan created something many of us dreamed of having back in the 80’s: Captain N’s varsity jacket. Which was a huge oxymoron since back in the 80’s no one who wore a varsity jacket got anywere near a NES, let alone get sucked into it.

But I digress, Stephan claims this is a faithful replica to the one used in the cartoon, which I dont imagine being that hard to get, but still awesome. He’s already got the Zapper, now he’s just a working, time stopping controller belt away from being my hero. Rock on Stephan!

Watch the Pac-Man cartoon show, weep silently

From our the retro loving friends at Overtime Comedy comes this thing, this monstrosity from the 80’s, The Pac-Man Cartoon. Someone at Hanna-Barbera apparently had a bad trip while playing Pac-Man at the arcade and his visions somehow became a show.  I dont even know if I never saw this on TV or if I’m just repressing the memories. Here’s the ‘ Super Ghosts’ episode so you can relive your messed up childhood all over again.

Suddenly that Kirby anime isn’t looking so bad, huh?

Is it just me or does that Pac-Man truck driver sound exactly like Mario from the Super Mario Show? There is also another episode called Pacula in which – you guessed it — there’s a vampire Pac-Man. This is wrong, this is so wrong, its… unholy.

Southpark: the complete WoW episode

Comment now!

As half the internet knows by now, South Park did a whole episode based on World of Warcraft this week and its a must see. I actually laughed several times through the episode; my jaded soul doesn’t usually do that, unless there’s an orphan crying. Anyway, here’s the complete episode courtesy of dailymotion.

Cartoon Network to publish MMOG in 2008

Comment now!

CN logo nou.jpgCartoon Network, my accomplice in getting bad grades back in elementary school, has announced its dipping its hands on the MMO waters. According to the information released the game is still two years away plus any delays that might come along the way. The game will be developed by the people behind Seal Online which hints at the game’s style both graphical and gameplay-wise.

In fact the information states that the game will be released with an “East meets west” style. Do expect it to be anime heavy. The game will be similar to Silkroad in that it will be free to play but extra/new content that ‘enhances’ the gameplay will be for purchase. Frankly this is the best model to peddle your wares to little kids who’s demands are often driven by light envy. Like taking candy from a baby.

Keep your eyes on this, it could get big.

Futurama is back!

Comment now!

futurama_bender.jpgA million geek tears were cried when FOX canceled futurama three years ago. And with good reason, the show was filled with intelligence, wit and pure comedy gold. Now comedy central is reviving the series for a full new 13 episode run. The original voice talent will be back for the job as well. The episodes will start airing in 2008.

“There is a deep and passionate fan base for this intelligent and very funny show that matches perfectly with our audience and it is great that we can offer them not just the existing library, but something they’ve never seen as well,” said David Bernath, senior VP, programming, Comedy Central.

Do as bender says and get ready, 2008 comes fast!
