Lolita characters: check. Apathetic main character: check. Story with death as the main element: check, check, check. Bland ending: Cheeeeeeeeeeeekuuuuh!I’m starting to see a pattern. . .no wait, the pattern has been made years ago! A lot of things have been made around death in anime but. . .delivering letters from the dead? Hmmm, oh wait. . .wait. . .Lain had it first. But physical letters? Delivered by hand? That being the main plot of the story? A’ight, you can give it a shot. . .
Made by J.C. Staff in 2008, this anime consists of 12 episodes about this death mail sender and her mishaps.
The genres are Fantasy and Drama.
I don’t wanna know what she’s watching with great. . . furor. Hmm. . .scratch that, I really want to see!
STORY
This series consists of short stories, 1 or 2 episodes long most of the time, about normal people who experience death in a very close manner, be it a death of a relative, friend, or even their own deaths. The protagonist of the show then appears the scene; Fumika is an afterlife mailman, meaning she’ll deliver letters which were written by the dead. . . Like a literal Post Data, hahaha! She’ll deliver the letter to whoever or whatever the dead person would have sent it, and she will not rest until it’s delivered.
As with a lot of anime series that follow this stereotypical storytelling, at the end or somewhat in between each episode we’ll know a little bit more on the main character’s life and how she became what she is, be it a killer, an astronaut, or a Fumika.
I’m the main character! I show no feelings and treat people like shit! I’m so Hardcore!
GRAPHICS
Character designs is very. . .Ali Project, you know? Even though they’re musicians, in all anime I’ve seen that has an Ali Project OP, character designs are very similar: big eyes with cat-like pupils; if the character is tomboyish, Fumika eyes (shown above); if she’s not, then saddened eyes like in the picture below. Even the attitudes are waaaaay too similar, Avenger comes to mind. Oh man, so many likeliness, the planets must be aligning! . . .or maybe mangakas ran out of imagination and creativity after 1988.
Clearly this girl here is playing a Vii. And what’s up with her left hand?! it’s smaller than the other hands even if they’re farther! QUALITY!
SOUND & MUSIC
Ali project is in charge once again of the OP song titled “Kotodama”. As always the Eastern musical scale and the use of chromatics in the melody proves that they’re starting to run out of ideas and will need to start looking for another style soon!
The ending song “Chain” by Snow is kinda meh, too common for anime ballads. BGM is pretty standard too. Not much to talk about here.
A rod with a head like that would make an excellent rave item.
OVERALL
If you really have some time to watch some anime drama with forced background on every single character, try this. It’s funny that this is clearly an “Ali Project” Anime. Hilarious.

Too bad. Having an interesting OP song doesn’t make you special.

Really, you’re not a comedian. Don’t try to do funny. Just stick to the main review at hand.
