Here comes a pretty random-yet-straightforward anime with standard quality, obsessed-with-something characters, and a creepy dog that never shuts its eyes! Wrap them all in a Japanese shopping district and you’re good to go.
Made by the Telecom Animation Film Studio in 2006 and distributed in the U.S. by Media Blasters by the name of Ramen Fighter Miki
GENRE: Basically COMEDY, I would say everyday life, but people don’t fight to death on a daily basis so. . .I think it’s only Comedy.
STORY
There’s Miki, the girl that works at a Chinese ramen restaurant as a “poster girl” (whatever that means), who has a nemesis named Megumi, who happens to work at a bakery across the street. So everytime they see each nother, they start to fight, often leading to Miki’s punishment, as she is the ramen delivery girl and fails to get it safe and on time.
That’s the premise of this anime. . . then add to that a guy who is obsesesed with Sentai shows (power rangers) and a guy that ends every single phrase with -Nya. What, is this some kind of an awful Dejiko clone?
Great, huh. . .

GRAPHICS
Character design by Keiko Nakaji (it’s her first Character Design role, since before this she was the Key animator or animation manager for Detective Conan, among some others.) Average character animation, with the somewhat animated fight scenes.
When something “funny” happens, characters lose their noses and go all round faced with puffy eyes. Kinda funny at first.

SOUND ‘n MUSIC
Ryuji Takagi is responsible for the BGM in Muteki Kanban Musume, and he has made music also for Dai Mahou Touge, Nurse Witch Komugi with Magikarte Z. I can’t say all the songs and themes in the series are memorable, but he does a decent job, sometimes getting some electronic beats for the action scenes or sometimes the Wild West guitar tune when trying to analyze stuff..
The opening song is named “Wild Spice” by Masami Okui, and it is a pretty good opening song.
The ending, Ending Theme: “Muteki na smile” by Naozumi Takahashi does a decent job as an Ending Song, but reminds me of late 80’s anime songs.
OVERALL
Avoid this, really. . .or watch it only if you’re planning on watching each and every one show that has COMEDY in it, even if sometimes lacking, OR if you’re new to anime, which makes this a great starter.
If you’re thinking Masami Okui’s intro song makes this show great, get the OST.
