This time we introduce you to another very fine anime that transport us to the pure concepts of fascination, intrigue, and love. Guessed right, it’s Maria-Sama Ga Miteru. Come see why this is a must see for most anime lovers out there. . .
This well made anime from Studio Deen (Eat-Man, Druits Basket, Samurai Deeper Kyo, Zenki) depicts the consequences of an all-female school with relationships more intimate than natural, as expected in a high class school (?).

We start at the Lilian Religious High School for Young Girls where, to keep the purity and essence of that particular school, there’s an “elite” group of girls from 3rd year who have their names as different types of Roses. Each Rose have their petit soeur, a 2nd grader, and they have a petit soeur en bouton (1st graders). So the story starts when a 2nd grader (Sachiko) desperately puts her rosary (needed for the ritual of being a petit s. en bouton) to a stranger from 1st grade (Yumi) and the consequences that unfold.
GRAPHICS
I really enjoyed the animation style and character designs. The girls have different eyes, noses, and have well-built personalities. As with Aria The Animation, you can put this anime on a big screen, turn off the volume, and put it as part of ambientation in a formal party or whatnot. I’m sure most people will enjoy it. In the flaws part, they were more pronunciated in the 12th episode, but nothing too serious.
SOUND AND MUSIC
Again, the OST for this series is sublime. It transports us to the “style” of school the author wants us to imagine the story developing. They songs are made mainly for string quartets, though we can hear some piano/harpsichord, flute, and even voice among the series. Quite Baroque at times, then kind of Romantic with that contemporary feel.
OVERALL
I surely recommend this series who likes romance and/or how far can friendship go between 2 people from school. This show has good music, good animation, and a pack of drama, so you’ll never get bored here. I can’t wait to get my hands on Season 2, ~Haru~ (Spring).
