Dokuro Figure Review
Friday 9 March 2007 @ 8:06 am | By Fadsy Comment now!Welcome to the Fifth installment of ‘Figure Review from a Hikikomori’. This week I am reviewing Kotobukiya’s Dokuro-chan figure. This is one of the earlier purchases of mine, and it’s also one of the nicest items in my stash, as well as relatively cheap. Unfortunately it’s discontinued. Also, an internet friend of mine also has her and he tells me he likes her very much.
Dokuro stars in an animation about a one Sakura Kusakabe and herself and the adventures they share. She came from the future to assassinate him because of his inadvertent invention of immortality that seems to stop growth at age 12, thus angering god. Throughout the series, various other angels come back to try and kill Sakura, and Dokuro does her best to fend them off. Also lots of gore because Sakura gets killed a lot, but Dokuro revives him. Very nice for people like me who enjoy lots of senseless gore and blood-splatter.
This is a very nice release from Kotobukiya. Dokuro is 1/7 scale, and cost 4200 yen (about $36 USD), which is a very nice price given the quality. Her death-club Excalibolg has a removable end bit so you can toss the club into her hand. She’s about 7 inches tall and her club makes her take up about 4 inches horizontally.
The overall detail with this figure is very high-end. Paint overlap is practically non-existent, and there seem to be no joint lines anywhere. Her face is very well painted, and the way her halo is set up is a nice addition. She’s another figure to have a screw in her foot connecting her to her base, so she is quite good at keeping her balance and not stabbing you with her club. For the price, she’s one of the best figures I’ve seen in quite awhile.
Needless to say she has a removable skirt. Of course you know the detail on this particular aspect is well done as well.
Hobbylink’s page is here. She’s discontinued, though she might be available somewhere else.
Sorry for skipping out on last week’s review. I was busy moving stuff I WAS BUSY LEAVE ME ALONE.
Rants:
There are plenty more panties in the stash. This must be one of at least 8 with removable skirts. Could use more stripes though. Also the person in question mentioned in the beginning is the guy who got me to get that Hikaru and Nagi pair of figures. I’m sure he will get me to waste more monies. Goodness Japan must pride itself on attention to pervy detail.
