Creator’s Lab Mine Blue # 10 (Beach Bike Babe) Review

Comment now!

Look and laugh at the somewhat late third installment of ‘Figure Review from a Hikikomori’. Today’s review is a glance at a very expensive and overpriced figure based on an illustration in Mine Yoshizaki’s “Mine bluE” illustration book. To make things easy, let’s call her the bike chick. A bike chick who drained my wallet and patience just like my job used to pay for her drained my soul.

Not much background info on her herself, as she is sculpted after an illustration done by Mine Yoshizaki. The author for such works as Keroro Gunsou and Arcade Gamer Fubuki, and other works of high quality that should be pursued by all of you. Go read Keroro Gunsou now and be entertained.

Given her price and scale, she is quite overpriced and proves that I really do spend too much money on figures for the sake of curiosity. She is a 1/7 scale and lists as 7800 yen (roughly $66 USD), and was released by Yamato. The figure and bike are of average quality. This is the second Yamato release I own, and like the other, it is somewhat sub par. It’s not that bad, but it’s likely worth roughly 4000 yen.

Taking a closer look, the paint job is decent. The figure came with keys to be put into the ignition, which was a very amusing touch. As seen in the photos, the stand is reflective, so you can observe the underside of the bike. The girl is also decently painted, except the underpart of her chest seems awkwardly painted, granted it may be shadowing, and the few spots where part joining is more or less obvious from visible lines. She does sit nicely on the bike’s seat, which has butt-grooves for her butt to fit nicely into. She also holds her hat quite nicely. Attention to detail is quite nice on the figure overall.

You can find the order page I bought her from here. Given how long ago she was released, she will likely go discontinued from that link soon.

Stay tuned for next week’s big fat photo-graphical special as I move out into an apartment with lots of space to wap up. Also the review will be better I promise.

Rants (An adventure greater than a tale):

I managed to do some nasty damage to the bike while trying to put it onto the pegs for the base. It resulted in the front wheel being broken off and the pegs being totaled. Again, I had to turn to comrade super glue to save her bike. It took a good while to fix the bike to the base, but the front wheel was very easy to fix. Luckily, she didn’t have insurance so she couldn’t say anything to the authorities.
