For those not familiar with the whole -tan phenomenon, the Japanese have been in love with moe anthropomorphism for some years now. Moe anthropomorphism is basically taking an inanimate object and personifiying it as a female figure. This characters represent not only the looks of the object but also the perceived personality of it.
Some of the most famous cases are OS-tans and Console-tans. OS-tans are based on pretty much every computer Operating System out there and likewise you’ll find Console-tans from the NES to the PS3. Actually you can find -tans out of pretty much every object under the sun, including the sun itself.
There’s much to explore in the universe of OS-tans and from now on each Tuesday we will feature a different -tan. It should be fun, wait for it!
