San Diego Comicon Picture Funtime!
Monday 30 July 2007 @ 9:30 pm | By Jonathan_Leo 14 CommentsHey there, gang. Got back from one of the biggest comic conventions in the world, which is showing no signs of slowing down. There were announcements ( new Futurama episodes, Lost and Heroes games done by Ubisoft) , there were exclusives (the awesome Iron Man trailer and just-as-awesome Superman/Doomsday premiere on Thursday), there were enjoyable panels (Neil Gaiman, Warren Ellis, and Scott Kurtz being my personal faves) but most importantly,
… there were fans. Because everyone loves a bit of cheesecake or two, and what better way to celebrate one of North America’s most celebrated event with pictures of folks of all shapes and sizes (preferably hourglass-shaped and petite-sized) dressing up as their favorite heroes, heroines, and villains. More of this tomfoolery after the jump.
A rather young blonde promoting Hot Fuzz. With a lot of emphasis on the “hot”
I am not sure where this is from, but this is way better-looking than Suicide Girls.
Vampirella, in her most well-endowed state.
Deathnote characters. I still remember that this is an anime site.
Just in case this might turn into something of a babe-fest, I present you with people who know their roots. Still, where’s Princess Peach?
This picture is brought to you with “LOVE AND PEACE!”
What could be better than a slave bikini-claded Princess Leia half-smiling at you?
…TWO slave bikini-claded Princess Leias!
Ladies promoting the upcoming PC title Timeshift. They got the time part right, with the hourglass figures and all.
Ladies with viking getup, promoting Pathfinder. I’d pillage that booty and plunder that hoard.
Save this cheerleader? Sure!
Three cheers for the gentleman for the almost-obscure Green Hornet getup.
You probably aren’t paying attention to the other guy, so here’s one sans Green Hornet.
In fact, you probably aren’t paying attention to what’s written down here. That’s fine too.
All we need for this pic is some guy willing to pose as Vicious, complete with live crow.
Who would have thought? Wonder Woman and some nameless Raccoon City cop teaming up for the greater good.
Pirates go well with anything, even with commanders in charge of the Death Star. This picture deserves special mention because these are the first of the many people who asked for my picture. Apparently, I look like Hiro Nakamura of Heroes.
The first female fighter in the arcades of the 90s, rejecting my advances in full force.
I’d quarter-circle both of them with my “Sheng Long”. The forced innuendoes keep on coming, viewers.
Pirates go well with anything, even in the modern times.
This one gets my vote for MILF of the year.
The line for the Heroes panel was, to put it simply, gargantuous, thus I could not get in. Here’s my consolation prize.
Pirates go well with anything, even with ladies wearing snake getup.
Here’s something for the female demographic.
Nothing says “hawt’ like Asian exotics in white bondage.
A rare sight indeed. Guess the Slave-1 sold pretty high on E-bay, eh Bobba?
Major props for the first Freakazoid cosplayer I have encountered in the room. Isn’t the DVD long overdue by now?
Insert your own “Shazam” innuendo here, folks. I’m fresh out.
Ah, Bleach, how you turned from something different to a Shounen Jump fight-fest of Dragonball Z proportions.
This one gets ‘Best-In-Show’ in the hottie department. If you’re reading this, Miss, you had me at ‘black frills’.
You get a close second, Miss with the black corset.
Apparently, I couldn’t take a hint at the Hack/Slash booth, thus she had to resort to alternative methods.
What better way to end this post with a bit of camp? Holy flearking Schnit, Batman!
Hope you loyal viewers get to enjoy these shots of the Con. This being my very first, it was indeed an enjoyable, if tiring, affair. Thanks to writers and artists talking about their passions and the state of the industry, I have definitely learned a heck of a lot.

*looks closely* Psylocke looks as though she might be camel toeing. Poor thing. Somebody really should’ve told her.
Tip of the iceberg. There were way too many exhibitionists walking around.
