Retro Video – Ghosts n’ Goblins
Monday 5 February 2007 @ 3:43 am | By Abraham 'Velcor' Duarte Comment now!I’m pretty sorry that last week I couldn’t give you the weekly dose of Retro Video to keep you from being hyperactive and begin to eat marshmallow filled cushions. Now, to make up for it, I present 2 retro videos of the same Saga: Ghosts n’ Goblins for the NES and Ghosts n’ Ghouls for the SNES.
If we know CAPCOM, we know that a lot of their games’ characters have that special aura on them that make us like him / her, from Ry or Chun-li from Street Fighter to everyone’s favorite android, Megaman. Between these 2 colossal sagas is Arthur. That fearless knight that goes on the most brave of adventures: Saving the princess form the Evil King at the very top of the tower in World 8. No, really. If you can make a time warp ala John Petrucci, you will remember that in the good ol’ 2D era, most if not all of adventure / platformer games consisted of 8 levels.
Now this 1st video is a Live Action Parody of Ghosts n’ Goblins made by the guys over at MEGA64 (which Nahu and I have met at the San Diego ComicCon). Pretty brave for Rocco to go out to the street only to be left in heart trousers (I admire you, dude!).
Note that in the middle of video 3 he starts playing it again. That’s right, to get tto the REAL final boss you needed to beat the game twice! and without saving! Now that’s a challenge.
Next comes a Speedrun from a guy named “sdkess” with the bonus of NEVER BEING HIT. It’s divided into 6 video pieces and it’s 45 minutes long. I tell you, this game will always rock so hard. Congrats, sdkess!
