Tuesday 13 February 2007 @ 10:28 pm | By Luminous Path 1 CommentJa-jaaaaan! Thats right, its time for: Popular Japan!; Nippon no Tsuuzoku!;
In this Feature, we’ll be taking a look at whats popular in japan in music, media, and anything else that may catch your eye!
This week in the charts:
1. Mr. Children: FAKE
2. Namie Amuro: Baby Don’t Cry
3. EXILE: Lover’s Again
4. Ken Hirai: ELEGY (Aika)
5. YUI: Rolling star
The YUI song may sound a bit familiar to some, it being the fifth opening to the anime Bleach, which could bring forward an interesting point in how popular a song is may influence its choice as the opening for an anime, and vice versa in many occasions, although obviously not enough to push it much further in the charts, seeing as how YUI has been sitting in the same slot for about three weeks now.
EXILE has finnaly taken their step down the chart ladder for the past month or so, much to many chart-watchers both joy and chagrin, to find a recent jump up with Namie Amuro’s recent relase (January 24th) of her single Baby Don’t Cry. Mr Children retains a position in the charts like he always seems to with Ken Hirai.
Not within the top five but worth mention is Home Made Kazoku’s recent explosion upwards with Kimi Ga Kureta Mono (The Thing You Gave). The song, released on the 31st has shot up in popularity recently, leading to a 7-point jump up the charts to sixth place! Noone can deny the charms of this hip-hop trio, it seems.
Here’s their PV for all to enjoy!:
Join us next week for another NNT!
