In Case You Missed It: The Month In Review – May ‘09
Sunday 31 May 2009 @ 9:11 pm | By Sol 1 Comment
May gave us a range of topics to explore; some controversial, some life-changing, but most of all, entertaining. If you missed May’s most discussed posts here’s another chance to check them out and have your say. Next week we’re going into E3-mode and stuff will get buried forever!
Training With Hinako: Exercise your body and mind, your very dirty mind
Tried of being an out of shape otaku? Nahu presents us with some sexy training tips from Hinako. However, Reiku points out: women who watch this will no doubt be screaming that she should be wearing a sports bra and no less be in a grand amount of discomfort to be doing exercises in that state.
Gamers Control Death-Row Inmates in Lionsgate Film, Gamer
Kidkobun shows us the next “videogame” film. While having some apprehension, the general consensus is that we are interested in Gamer. Of course as “gamers” we can’t take it too seriously…Khaim says if Leonidas is there, i shall go see it! Kidkobun replies: Ready your breakfast and eat hearty…For tonight, we dine in the Mushroom Kingdom!
Last month I got married. This month I shared my experience during my honeymooning where I stayed at Hotel Tomo, a pop-Japan inspired hotel! It’s hard not to be sentimental about the trip, but Kidkobun sums up my feelings perfectly: I still can’t believe your wife was ok with staying here…that’s a total keeper for sure.
Confessions Of An Aging Gamer: The Skeletons In The Closet
During some much need cleaning I ran into some old friends, my stash of video game magazines. This got us talking about our loot of days gone by. More skeletons are to be found and thankfully I’m not the only one. Velcor looks back to his old collector days: I still have a box with a lot of N64 game boxes and a binder with a lot of pokemon trading cards. Sadly most of the games are long gone and I know that more sooner than later they’ll meet the trash bin or an avid collector on ebay.
Coming in last, we had 3 posts raking in enough chatter to include in the list:
The Weekend Is Here! What Are You Watching? What Are You Playing? An open thread giving us all an idea of how everyone enjoys their weekend.
Hypocrisy In Gaming: Kuma Games Releases Somali Showdown Last month we talked about Six Days in Fallujah being cancelled and if a Somali pirates game would cause the same fervor. This month we got our answer.
Afro Samurai – An Overall Review - Velcor gives us his take on Afro Samurai: A great series if you’re fan of the Shonen genre. Lots of action, lots of Japanese culture, and great detail in every scene. A must watch, and even a must-buy!
So as we close the book on another month at Dark Diamond we gaze at the horizon towards June. With E3 right around the corner we are looking forward to a mother lode of videogame news. Are you excited? We sure are!
Kudos to those who guessed correctly and were awarded +5 points related to the easter egg I hid in this post. The correct answer was Golgo 13. I had hidden the poster in the window, as well as making some references to Queen Bee. Don’t miss out next time!
