Comic-Con 2009 is over and boy it was a blast! All Through the week I’ll be posting footage and galleries from the event but for now here’s this little teaser. A couple of facts from the video:
It doesn’t pretend to be something it isn’t.
It’s still better than Dragon Ball: Evolution.
You can even watch it on HD on YouTube. Expect more during the week!

With the Shadow of the Colossus movie still far into the future the very idea is already moot as the usually hilarious guys of Mega64 have released their very own version of the epic tale. It has it all and asks nothing from Hollywood. Colossus? Check. Guy climbing the colossus? Check. Dramatic music? Check. Overacted death? Check. Plot twist at the end? Check.
See Hollywood? It doesn’t take much to stay true to the source material. Just 2 guys and a fursuit… which is all the Dragonball movie needed, honestly.

So Dragonball Evolution came out, and as horrible as the movie was, it could have been much much worse. We survived and now there’s only about a dozen more anime movies in the making to go through, right? Wrong, it doesn’t end here! With Dragonball Evolution having been a moderate success worldwide and the movie already turning profits, the Hollywood tycoons aren’t going to give up. That’s right, there’s a sequel, and its already written.
When talking to MTV news, Justin Chatwin revealed that a sequel for the movie has already been written and its only awaiting a green light depending on the success of the Evolution. Furthermore Spike the Vampire… I mean Piccolo himself, James Masters, has stated that:
“We’re going to get to ‘Dragonball Z’ later, where Piccolo becomes youthful and he’s going to become the Piccolo that most people recognize.”
So are we looking at a second part based on Dragonball Z’s first act? Will we get to see Vegeta and Napa? Will its profit level be over 9000?!
Whenever we learn something more about Dragon Ball Evolution 2 we’ll be posting it on our homepage, so be sure to subscribe to our site for updates on Dragon Ball Evolution 2. You can get our updates via email or RSS, it’s free and easy!
In the unfortunate event you didn’t come to DarkDiamond as frequently as you should have or weren’t keeping up with our RSS feed, we’ve compiled a list of March’s 5 most commented posts. Here’s what you loved:

Hollywood: $200 Million For “Manga Movies”
Cerenzie-Peters Productions places cheap manga adaptations in the horizon. Azeral demands blood – I dread! Dread the cowboy bebop with Keanue as Spike!!
And I honestly demand blood for the atrocity that is DragonBall Z movie for a former fan to avenging anime lovers everywhere!!! …
Japan Unveils The HRP-4C: A Fashion Model Fembot
Nahu gives otakus everywhere hope for a realistic maid fembot, but Geirskogul poses in interesting question. Geirskogul - She’s missing four parts until she becomes mass-marketable. I’m letting you guess what those four are.
Pankore: Punk Rock Goes Moe
Nothing can be spared from moe-ification, not even punk rock. Offspring, Nirvana…the list only gets worse. Link screams – AHHHHHhhhh my fucking ears!
Spring 2009 Anime Preview: Japan Brings Out The Big Guns
In his debut writing for DDN, Dasuraga lays out what will be an impressive anime spring lineup, although “impressive” is a matter of interpretation. Raxalax offers his own summation – Only thing worth watching is FMA.
Now you’re up to speed, don’t let this happen again or we’ll make a movie about a Japanese fembot forming a moe punk band with her Xbox live friends. Hmm that actually doesn’t sound that bad, now where’s that business card from Cerenzie-Peters Productions…

It seemed like only yesterday that we were talking about the winter lineup, and here we are a month away from the beginning of the fall season. Whereas last season was, overall, a lot of new shows or adaptations, this season starts off with quite a large variety of sequels, along with some original IPs that seem interesting enough.
There are too many shows airing next season, you’ll probably only like a couple, if you’re lucky, so why go through the trouble when we can do it for you? Read on to avoid having to watch a single second of a show plagued of gratuitous moe fan service, no actual plot and empty characters… you know, unless that’s your kinda thing.

As if we weren’t under heavy siege by Hollywood, a new production company by the name of Cerenzie-Peters Productions is looking to invest in getting more videogame and “asian manga books” into the silver screen. In fact, they’ve already raised $200 million dollars in capital with which they plan to go shopping for juicy franchises. This does not bode well.
Furthermore, the company only plans to spend $20 – $30 million per movie which means 2 things: First, that we’ll get 8 or 10 of these films. EIGHT OR TEN! Second, that this movies will have a humorously tiny budget, so the end result is bound to to look cheap.
So lets recap, we’ve got Dragon Ball Evolution coming out soon, then there’s the Akira project, Cowboy Beebop with Keanu Reeves, James Cameron’s Alita, and that Ghost in the Shell project as well. That’s 5 movies that already have us teeming with rage. Now we’re getting double that.
Brace yourselves, friends, cuz its about to get ugly…er.
EDIT: Woa! I messed up my movie names, although Keanu in GITS would be hilarious. I’d cast him as a Tachikoma.

Oh god it seems one horror can only bring more horrors. Bandai Namco is making a PSP fighter based on the Dragonball: Evolution movie. Not only does the game look like a generic, lackluster fighter, its also riddled with penis. I’m not kidding, this is beyond Freudian, look for yourselves.

Time for the latest disaster in the Dragonball live action movie production. Apparently a picture showing Goku in his Oozaru form got leaked to the internet which you can see above. Its getting a lot of flack and for good reason! You see Oozaru is Japanese for ‘Big Monkey’, that’s a pretty simple description. Its a monkey… and its big, what could go wrong?
Well, somehow they managed to fuck it up and turn it into another Ivan Ooze / vampire lookalike! What the fuck?! FOX has replied saying that this was merely a test for the Oozaru form, which is another way of saying “’this was the real deal until everybody started yelling’. So in the spirit of making things better, or at least more faithful I took the liberty to fix this ‘test’ Oozaru. See it fixed after the jump.

Big news conglomerate IGN reports that the premier for the Dragoball live action movie has been moved closer by a couple of days. April 8 is the new date. Supposedly moved for strategical reasons the movie will be competing against the Hannah Montana movie that week. A smart move to make the movie look better? An all out competition with Hannah Montana for the bad movie crown? Only time will tell.

Somehow, two weeks earlier than expected, the trailer for Dragonball’s been released online, and to nobody’s surprise it looks awful. I still don’t totally get why Mai’s there, but not Pilaf, and everyone who predicted that they’d Hollywood Romance up Goku and Bulma, give yourself a round of applause. See for yourself.
