Namco have unveiled the latest fighter to enter the king of iron fist tournament and his name is Bob. Seriously. I’m not joking! The newest addition to Tekken 6 is a fat overweight white dude named Bob. I could laugh and curse on just how awful a character Bob is, but I’m too in love with him. Bob is awesome. Of all the new fighters in Tekken 6 who so far include: a girl that dresses like a boy, a gypsy woman and a matador with a bad perm - Fat, cord and slack wearing Bob is the best. Hopefully Bob will get his own spin off game and a range of plush dolls, key rings and cell phone charms - all in his wide girthed honor.

Remember that scene in Maid in Akihabara where Mako Sakurai’s character lives in a cubicle in an Internet/manga cafe? Well she isn’t the only one, by far. While the fact that some otaku live in these cubicles isn’t new, a new study by Japan’s Ministry of Health, Labor, and Welfare has just revealed the true magnitude of this phenomenon.
After surveying 3,200 manga cafes the ministry found out that 5,400 people call these places home, having no other place to live. These people sleep, eat, shower (somewhat regularly I suppose), browse the internet, play games, read manga, watch anime and sometimes, just sometimes even work from these places. Is this a symptom of the rising costs of housing in Japan? The realization of the otaku that they really don’t need much else in the way or worldly possessions?

Seems Nintendo really thought that whole “casual gaming” scenario for us up there, people starting to put Wii’s as another common masculine game like Poker, Darts, and Billiard. . .but wait, the Wii has 2 of those games! Blimey! Imagine Guy Number A, suddenly entering a dark bar; it has that gloomy look, the dim red lights, smoke clouds everywhere. Then, this guy goes to the bartender and tells him, “. . .The usual.”. Bartender hands out a Wii remote, and this Guy Number A starts playing Darts.
As unorthodox as it may sound, you can see it’s happening and we can do squat to change it. So, if you plan to go into one of those places, expect some familiar hardware inside.

Along my living arcade life, even though I’ve been playing it for a long time, and even beat it some times, my liking for this game has never been altered. You’ve got a left to right side scrolling shooter with 3 different pilots who have to save the galaxy from some aliens / robots that are trying to conquer it. Well, for most SNK games, I think this one does a decent job in the Story department.
About the gameplay, you select your ship for which, unlike most shooters, you can select between 3 kinds of front bullets, 3 kinds of Missiles, and 3 kinds of Rear bullets, from homing, to straight, to diagonal, it’s just customization awesomeness! That means that when selecting character / ship, you’re just selecting the speed of the shuttle, so don’t worry, you can get the girl instead of the Dolphin like in Aero Fighters 3!
Among some other nice features that make this game so cool is the introduction of an excellent OST that manages to fit perfectly to every stage and situation, I mean, even the menu music gets your spine chillin’ just ready for the action!
Mobility is great, enemies are gradually tough, and it has an awful lot of replay value. You must play this game, don’t live another day without doing so!
moffstar shows us the very beginning of the game, and with this sweet audio. . .I just want to play again ;_;
Hello Kitty is tired of being pimped, pillaged, raped and plastered on just about everything. There is no end to how far people will go to run Hello Kitty into the ground. She would tell you how much pain she’s in herself, but the poor bitch has no mouth.
Those two “models” wearing those t-shirts would not be smiling if they could feel Hello Kitty’s pain and shame.

Well, it’s finally here. The long awaited, much hyped, jRPG for the Xbox 360. As soon as you start up the game, you can tell its going to be quite the cinematic experience. In fact, at first I didn’t realize that I was able to control my character as the opening credits flew, I thought it was a cut-scene. Sweeping views stretching into the hazy distance, large vistas of entire villages, detailed monsters, all in glorious 1080P - if your display supports it. Hopefully this small review will give you a decent idea of the first part of the game. A word of caution, there will be spoilers for about the first two hours.
Don’t worry. Hideo Kojima hasn’t gone all Kingdom Hearts on us. Beauty and the best is the name of the new unit of bosses in Metal Gear Solid 4. Check ‘em out.
Get your tissue box and get ready to pretend you’ve got something in your eye because some genius Japanese movie exec decided it was a great idea to produce a live action version of Grave of the Fireflies. The tragic story about the two kid brothers surviving after an air raid in WWII will get sadder tenfold as real life starving orphans are much more shocking than their 2D counterparts.
It really tops the Grave of the Fireflies candy can as worse tragic marketing ever. The tearjerker is set to be released on summer 2008 with shooting starting next month.

So the overgrown Piranha who wreaked havoc in THE best 3D platform game ever that is Super Mario Sunshine (that was me being sarcastic) will appear as a boss in Super Smash bros. Brawl. And before you ask - Yes. That is Princess Zelda and Princess Peach locked up in those cages. Yet again, the silly bitches have gone and gotten themselves kidnapped. They flew into the fray like they were actually going to help, but end up getting locked in cages. I hope for Mario and Link’s sakes that the Princesses put out REAL good for the amount of times they’ve gone to their rescue.
There have been quite a few cool updates on the official Smash bros. web site. So allow me to re-cap them all for you…
- Petey Piranha does the kidnapping gig
- Turn up your speakers it’s K.K Rider!!
- Yoshi’s final smash gives him wings!?
- Diddy Kong enters the arena ready to throw his shit in your face
- The attack of The Subspace army
- Link’s new special moves (which are alot like his old ones)
- Peach is back (and she’s bought a new dress)

It seems that there hasn’t been any updates on games people are playing on DDN for a while. Time to break the silence. Today’s feature is on both a renowned shooter and a not-so-renowned Strategy RPG, after being scrutinized for a few days or so.

A short clip of Hikaru Utada’s PV for her theme to Rebuild of Evangelion has been released on her official website and interestingly it does not feature Hikaru at all! The PV instead includes a montage of clips from the film itself. This will probably piss off fans who were hoping for a brand new PV which featured Hikaru. I doubt she’s fussed though. She’ll still get a big bag o’ money and a number 1 hit single on the Oricon charts at the end of it all.
The first film in the series Evangelion: 1.0 - You are (not) alone is released September 1, 2007 in Japan. Hit the link below to get a sneak peak at it and to hear Hikaru’s Utada’s theme song if you haven’t heard it already.
News in Japan are serious business. You don’t mess with the news, its all about the Nikkei, the latest technology advancements, the aging of the Japanese population and, of course, reports on cat rescues. Serious. Fucking. Business. Been a while since we last posted a Japanese TV clip.

Today Square Enix opened the doors of its North American merchandise online store, it features items that have been common in Japan for some years now and that you could only get by import in this side of the ocean. However, a quick browse around the store and you’ll see these are not the cheap knock-off stuff you are used to see on eBay. This is the real deal, expensive, bling your heart out silver jewelry! There is also a lot of figures, plushies (chocobo!) and even a SHINRA Employee ID Card Case, for any official SHINRA business.
Visit with a wide open mind and an even wider wallet, and hurry because the stuff is selling out fast!
For DS owning fellas who weren’t content with the intimate female groping of Doki Doki Majo Shinpan!, can now get it on with an all female pro-wrestling game on DS! You pick a busty female wrestler, take to the ring and then pick cards to initiate attacks. Not the full on grappling action some of you may have been hoping for - but you can bet there will be non animated pictures of busty females sliding across the screen, with the odd in-game squeal of ‘Dame desu!’, ‘Kimochi’ and ‘Yamete!’. The game currently has no confirmed title. So in the mean time I’ve titled it Super femme pro-wrestling: Ultra card battle.
I’m assuming cards will be displayed on the touch screen, whilst the top screen shows 3D representations of the ladies duking it out. Because watching stationary ladies just stand there whilst your cards flip over and an energy gauge depletes would make for the crappiest female wrestling game ever.
Having a female wrestling game on DS where by the stylus is only used to select cards and options seems like a wasted opportunity to me. No bouncing breasts, no grapples on floors, no arses sticking up in the air, no stylus gestured attacks = no fun.

The same famous prison that brought you the massive Thriller dance is apparently taking requests for new dance routines and someone saw fit to suggest Hare Hare Yukai, the Haruhi dance.
This is apparently just an early rehearsal and its not the whole troupe, still its pretty damn awesome. Here’s hoping they do Lucky Star next!
Thanks Godsh0t!
