Oh fanboy love knows no limits, it might not move mountains but it can definitely lay the smack talk on competing mountains. Yeah, mountains are cool, but I digress. Uber Nintendo fanboys, Ffejery Plexco and Kip Beats, made this totally neat (cool kids still say neat, right?) song and accompanying video as proof of their undying love and devotion to the Big N.

Forget the Mario, do the Reggie!

Happy Halloween from Dark Diamond! Go out and scare some kids, scout for candy, watch some videos or geek your way into unconsciousness by gaming and watching some anime. Whatever is your way to party do it with responsibly and dont suck (unless the later is appropriate).

recently Matt Casamassina from IGN put together a little walkthrough of the Wii interface. Its very simplistic as the development unit showcased had none of the Wii channels we’ve seen before. But it serves as a nice opportunity to delve into the most basic aspects of the Wii dashboard, such as settings.

That Wii address book is sure to put an end to the horror of the DS friendcode system. And im curious as to what messages your games will leave you, I’m getting flashbacks of console PMS.

Hollows Eve is just hours away now, here at Dark Diamond HQ we’re already stocked with enough cheap candy to last us a lifetime (2 hours if I get a take on the matter) and to put you guys in the mood here are 5 Halloween gamer videos for your entertainment.

A tetris Halloween, on 2005 this 3 guys went out to the city acting out a Tetris orgy. Seriously, there’s implied anal sex in there.

Pyramid Head does a little gaming before the big night.

Guy dressed as a NES controller for Halloween 2004.

Resident Evil 4 does Thriller

Behold! The next generation of Nintendo fanboys is upon us. He cant be more than 12.

Thats it, enjoy!

bawls death.jpg

We gamers, otaku and geeks in general depend a great deal on the holy trinity of foodstuffs, snacks, fast food and caffeine, to perform amazing feats of endurance; specially caffeine, it is the cornerstone of our sustenance. Who among us can deny that a bottle of Bawls, or six, helped us survive the decadence of a gaming marathon, an anime convention or camping out for the latest overhyped product they throw our way? And in with Halloween just a day away, caffeine just might save us again.

food pyramid.jpg

But beware, enough caffeine in your body and you’ll go the way of Clover studios. And while we all love pushing the boundaries its better to know what those boundaries are. Enter the Death by Caffeine calculator, this nifty script allows you to know exactly how much of your poison of choice your flabby body can take before you collapse and are survived by your collection of anime figurines.

Vamp-logo.jpg

I could be offed by drinking 132 bottles of bawls but I’m pretty sure I’d be well beyond conscious before hitting 50. Sadly the website has no information on my power juice of choice, Vamp, which claims to have “the maximum amount of caffeine allowed by law”, so I’m just gonna have to find that out for myself, in the name of science, of course.

How much caffeine have you done? Got a funny story about your caffeine induced schizophrenia? Tell us in the comments!

Maids incoming, many maids, easily more than a hundred of them. This week’s otaku music bit is from the zenith of harem anime series, Hanaukyo Maids.. Ive long loathed harem anime, its the root of all evil in otaku culture. Even beyond lolicon and magical girls, I cant stand it. Yet I cant deny a hundred maids groping a reluctant boy validates the existence of the genre, if only for this post.

Yes, this isn’t a customary otaku music bit but I had nothing. You can always send us a tip with what you’d like to see here at tips@darkdiamond.net or in the comments.

Cloud and the whole Final Fantasy VII gang working at a fast food joint, Robot Chicken style. Watch out for that Pink Slip attack!

Yes, I’m a couple of months late but I just got around to watching it, you know what to do if you feel like complaining.

Alright, here’s some more from the ‘Otaku for Otaku’ erudite Patrick Macias. A couple of nights ago he did a segment for NHK TV’s Eigo de Shabera Nighto on the fascination of Americans for anime and manga, but we know nothing about that in here. We’re all about dressing like characters from classic Russian literature in here.

I’m off to watch some mature anime with blood and magic and all that, probably Dokuro-chan.

kaworu-shinji.jpgReports have been flying around that the material for the first movie in the Rebirth of Evangelion series has been finished. The series producer Toshimichi Ootsuki says these new movies will mostly deal with Rei and Kaworu, with the first film focusing on a school setting previous to the first angel attacks of the TV series.

So yeah, expect less emo Shinji and more metrosexua….who am I kidding, more awkwardly flamboyant Kaworu.

Before I commit a horrible crime in the name of the industry, here’s the PS3’s newest ad.

Who the fuck is in charge of marketing at Sony HQ?! Tell me while I load my shotgun. How does this sell the PS3? All Sony’s achieving is bringing back the painfully locked childhood memories of aunt Irma’s doll collection. What are you telling us Kutaragi? That the cell processor was Mephistopheles’ design?

Abraham 'Velcor' Duarte

I didn’t think Capcom would get as distracted or busy as to not proof-read every weblink they’d post on their games, manuals or game cases. The misconception of the word “dash” in writing gave this thing the opportunity to happen:

aweg.JPG

As you can see, the boxart says Killer 7.com (with space) and it’s actually Killer-7.com (with dash). But you can say: “Hey, it’s no big deal, I mean, you will just get an error page, right?

HELL NO, KIDDO! That actually links to a gangbang-specialized web page, so obviously don’t go there when someone’s around.

So… You wanna do something after watching that big man with those HUGE guns?.

TROGDOR REAL.jpg

And so we come full circle, internet memes come into videogames. The ballad of Trogdor will be a playable song on Guitar Hero II as a bonus track. Ain’t this a beautiful industry?

TrogdorBonus.JPG

I plea guilty of having sang the whole thing dressed in full metal regalia along with Velcor, and you geeks probably did it too, but at least I am dragon-man enough to admit it!

Hey Eva fanboys, why wait for Rebuild of Evangelion when you can have Eva live action in 2007. Whats even more, with Frodo as Shinji (although Mr. Wood might be too manly to play Shinji).

Skillfully created mock-up, although I’m not sure Magneto would be the best Gendo.

More Wii mainstream advertising floating in the intertwubs, Falafelkid brings us this video from the 50th anniversary of germany´s most successful youth magazine Bravo. No need for translation as the barrage of hand gestures is enough to drive the point home for your grandma.

You see what she did there? She gets frustrated and irate with controllers!

The first photos from the set of the filming of the Postal movie have emerged unto the intertubes. So far it looks like it will have all the major elements of the game, senseless violence and men in turbants. And you know what? Even though its being directed by the infamous Uwe Boll I think it will be a good movie, I’m quite certain that it will capture the essence of the game. Why? — you ask. Because Postal sucks!

postalboll.jpg
“You mess with Uwe, you mess with us”

Don’t get me wrong, its a really fun game but it has no depth, no character development and very little coherence, perfect for Uwe Boll! The man takes complex and deep storylines and butchers them condensing them to their basic elements, postal has nothing but basic elements; in other words: It. Cant. Go. Wrong. Its as simple as that, or maybe Uwe will screw up and turn it into Schindler’s List. Click the link for more photos from the set.
